2 years agoSeattle Mariners third baseman Eugenio Suarez (finger) injured his right index finger on a ground ball in the fourth inning on Friday night against the Los Angeles Angels and underwent X-rays that were "inconclusive," according to manager Scott Servais. Suarez should be considered day-to-day for now, but his fantasy managers should be expecting him to sit out of Saturday's lineup. The 31-year-old has been a big power threat, clubbing 31 home runs while slashing .235/.335/.470 with an .805 OPS, 84 RBI and 72 runs scored in 511 at-bats this year. Check back for additional details on Suarez's injury after he likely undergoes more testing this weekend.Source: test
2 years agoI'm writing a post about Justin Verlander's performance in a professional baseball contest that I am watching right now on television. I need to add some more words to make sure that I trigger all the right validations properly, and also to test out the trim function I want to execute on the excerpt for the description field manipulation.Source: My Lying Eyes
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels second baseman David Fletcher (hand) is heading to the injured list after he was hit on the right hand last Saturday. Fletcher's scan came back negative, but there's a possibility of a bone bruise. The hope is that he can play the last week of the regular season. The 28-year-old's injury doesn't sound very serious, but he's going on the shelf regardless. He entered the game in the sixth inning on Friday night against the Seattle Mariners and went 0-for-1 with a strikeout and a run scored. Fletcher just hasn't done much for fantasy managers at all in 2022, hitting .259/.296/.349 with only two home runs, 15 RBI, 19 runs scored and one stolen base in 189 at-bats during an injury-plagued campaign.Source: The Athletic - Sam Blum

2 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop prospect Ezequiel Tovar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in his second game for Triple-A Albuquerque. Tovar had an impressive showing in Double-A this season with a .318 batting average to go along with 14 homers, 48 RBI and 17 stolen bases. That performance earned him a late season promotion to Triple-A. The 21-year-old has made big strides over the past two seasons and has shown some solid pop from the shortstop position. Although it's unlikely he makes his big-league debut this season, Tovar has a true chance of breaking camp with the Rockies next year. With his ability to make good contact and hit for power at the shortstop position with his future home of Coors Field, Tovar should be on the radar in all formats entering next season.Source: Milb.com
2 years agoDetroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera (biceps) is slowly progressing toward returning to his team before the end of the season. Cabrera took between 40 and 50 swings a few days ago and participated in a full batting practice session on Friday. The future Hall of Famer could be nearing a return to the Detroit lineup as the regular season draws to an end. Cabrera is hitting .256 with four homers, 23 runs, 37 RBI and a steal in 2022.Source: Cody Stavenhagen on Twitter
2 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo (head, back) took live batting practice ahead of his team's game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Rizzo has been sidelined since Aug. 31 with migraines and lower back soreness. The veteran infielder could possibly be ready to be activated from the injured list as early as Sunday. Rizzo is hitting .225 with 30 homers, 71 runs, 71 RBI and six steals on the season.Source: Pete Caldera on Twitter
2 years agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) tracked pitches and took some swings in the batting cage ahead of his team's game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. LeMahieu has been on the injured list since early September with a toe injury but his ability to ramp up baseball activities is a good sign. The veteran infielder is hitting .262 with 12 homers, 74 runs, 46 RBI, and four steals in 2022.Source: Meredith Marakovits on Twitter
